You can read a dye and finish route and predict what it will do to shade, fastness, shrinkage, and cost. You can judge a lab dip and a bulk shade against the agreed illuminant. And you can take a costed decision on a lot that has come out off-shade or off-hand.

What you will produce
You build a preparation gate for one order. You read the mill's route card line by line and name the failure each parameter is holding back. You specify the four acceptance measurements with method, target, and frequency. And you cost two preparation decisions in dollars against the value of the lot.
