You can read a dye and finish route and predict what it will do to shade, fastness, shrinkage, and cost. You can judge a lab dip and a bulk shade against the agreed illuminant. And you can take a costed decision on a lot that has come out off-shade or off-hand.

What you will produce
You build a finishing gate for one fabric quality. You back-calculate the route card from finished weight and width, through the compactor, to the stenter settings. You write every chemical finish on it as what it gives against what it takes. And you specify the acceptance tests with method, condition, target, and frequency.
