Certified Retail Buyer

For the person who is handed a budget and a trading date and expected to turn them into a range that sells and a margin the business keeps.

This is for the person in a retailer or a brand who is given a budget, a trading window, and a department, and is judged on what the season earns. You start with the money: an open-to-buy that balances week by week, phased against a calendar that is never quite last year's. Then you build a range that spends it. You set an option count with a depth floor under it, a price ladder with the gaps that matter, and an intake margin you can defend line by line. You place the work with a supplier who can genuinely take it, on a date your own approval calendar can keep, and you hold that calendar across every order at once rather than one at a time. Then the range lands. You split it across doors on evidence rather than an even share, you trade it, and you decide the week to stop defending the price. At the end you can say what the season earned, what the plan said it would earn, and exactly where the difference went.
