What it is
Consumption is the fabric each garment needs — kg per piece for knits, metres for wovens — the single biggest line in most cost sheets. The engine estimates it from the style's graded measurements, GSM or width, marker efficiency, and a construction-aware wastage band.
How to use it
On a fabric bill-of-materials line, click 'Calculate from measurements'. The panel shows the full working — inputs, the formula, a per-size table, and the average — then you confirm the number into the line so it feeds the FOB.
Good to knowAn estimate is badged as an estimate everywhere it appears until you confirm it. It divides by a real marker efficiency, so it is defensible, not optimistically low.
